MassageLuXe Appoints Industry Expert as Director of Massage Therapy
Nation’s Fast-Growing Spa Franchise Continues to Set the Standards in the Massage Industry
March 29, 2023 // Franchising.com // ST. LOUIS, Mo. - MassageLuXe, a rapidly expanding massage and spa franchise that sets the industry standard for membership-based massage, facial, and waxing services, is excited to introduce Terrie Yardley-Nohr, LMT as the company's Director of Massage Therapy.
With over three decades of experience in the massage industry, Yardley-Nohr has worked in various massage settings, including private practices, retail spas, and chiropractic offices. Her extensive knowledge and expertise have enabled her to develop programs and curriculums for several career colleges. Yardley-Nohr’s book, "Ethics for Massage Therapists," is a standard reference used by educators to train aspiring massage therapists. She has also served on the boards of the American Massage Therapy Association and the Alliance of Massage Therapy Educators, where she played a significant role in the passage of a law mandating state licensure and testing for massage therapists.
“The progress of the massage industry has been incredible, and I feel privileged to have contributed and continue to play a role in its advancement,” says Terrie Yardley-Nohr, LMT, Director of Massage Therapy at MassageLuXe. “The level of dedication shown by the MassageLuXe team is truly impressive. Everyone in the organization is passionate about their work and recognizes the significant impact we have on the health and wellness of our clients. I am committed to maintaining the quality of our services across all our franchise locations to ensure a consistent and exceptional experience for our clients.”
Terrie’s first massage was given with no prior training or experience, but it led to a lifetime of helping and healing others. When a friend with muscular dystrophy was in pain, Yardley-Nohr offered to massage his shoulders, which resulted in him feeling better than he had in weeks. He encouraged her to pursue massage therapy as a career, which she did, and her expertise has since helped countless individuals find relief from pain and stress.
As the newly appointed Director of Massage Therapy at MassageLuXe, Yardley-Nohr will oversee the development of new protocols and programs for the hundreds of massage therapists employed by the franchise network.
"We are thrilled to have Terrie Yardley-Nohr join the MassageLuXe team and to help us enhance and expand our massage therapy services," says Mark Otter, President and CEO of MassageLuXe. "She brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our team, and her passion for the industry and commitment to excellence is unparalleled."
Massage therapy, offered at MassageLuXe spas, has been scientifically proven to have numerous health benefits, including lowering stress levels, boosting immune function, improving mental health and wellness, aiding in pain management, and enhancing physical fitness.
"Thirty years ago, massage therapy was considered an indulgence, but now it's an affordable and essential part of health, wellness, and self-care," notes Yardley-Nohr. "More people are turning to massage therapy to combat aches and pains rather than relying on medication, and it's amazing to see how far the industry has come. I am excited to remain part of the industry's future with MassageLuXe."
