Raj Nijjar, a MassageLuXe franchise owner in Ann Arbor, Michigan, is excited to be a part of that growth. Raj worked in physical therapy for 14 years before a friend referred him to MassageLuXe. His experience closely aligns with some of the services MassageLuXe spas offer.
“The health and wellness industry is booming,” said Raj. “When looking into new business ventures, it was a natural move for me to choose MassageLuXe because of the business model. The brand allows you to offer top-of-the-line products and services from licensed massage therapists.”
When you purchase a MassageLuXe spa, you also purchase an exclusive territory. Your franchise agreement gives you the sole right to operate within your given area.
In 2018, Raj signed an agreement to open three locations in the Ann Arbor area. The first location opened in May 2019, and the second location opened in October 2020.
“Ann Arbor has a lot of professional people and there’s no big spa in the area. There are a few private places, but nothing like MassageLuXe,” comments Raj.

MassageLuXe encourages multi-unit growth for its owners. Eric Jenkins is a full-time critical care physician in the St. Louis, Missouri area. He also owns three MassageLuXe spas in Florida and one in Pennsylvania. Eric enjoys being able to manage his spas on the side while still caring for patients 60 hours a week. With four general managers, one per location, Eric handles more of the high-level work for his spas.
“I visit the locations on a quarterly basis, but I try to delegate as much as possible,” said Eric. “The brand allows for a lot of growth. There are a lot of areas that don’t have spas that would be well-suited for the MassageLuXe business model.”
Open a Turnkey Business
MassageLuXe offers guidance to franchise owners in all stages of start-up and after a spa opens its doors. From site selection to assisting with all aspects of getting the business up and running, MassageLuXe makes starting a new business a turnkey experience. It’s one of the main reasons Rebecca and Mike Collins wanted to become MassageLuXe franchise owners. Currently, the couple own franchises in Fairview Heights, Illinois and Blue Springs, Missouri, and signed a lease for their third location. They also have area development rights for Kansas City, and all of Kansas and will welcome another franchisee to develop a fourth location within their territory soon.
“We’ve been very successful since day one,” says Rebecca. “MassageLuXe International does a great job of putting forth a business plan that is really easy to follow and takes all of the guess work out of it.”
More Time for Family

Rebecca and Mike look forward to leaving a legacy to their children. Currently, their youngest son works at one of their locations while in college and their daughter is the district manager of their spas.
“We don’t just meet for dinner at the end of the day,” comments Rebecca. “We actually spend time all day every day working together and building a future.”
