Trigger point massage focuses on releasing trigger points, which are small, tight knots that develop in muscles that may cause pain in other areas of the body (an effect known as “referral pain”).

Trigger point massage works by putting pressure on the tight area until the muscle knot softens and releases. Trigger point massage addresses surface muscles, connective tissues, and deeper ligaments. This treatment technique is similar to acupressure.

What is Trigger Point Massage?

Trigger Points are sensitive areas in the muscle fibers that can form due to injury or overuse.  Trigger Points can cause local and referred pain and reduce range of motion and mobility.  The pain caused by trigger points can range from mild to severe.

During a trigger point massage, your licensed massage therapist will identify the trigger points and use a variety of techniques to reduce trigger points and the restriction around these points.   The therapist will also address other compensating areas affected by the trigger points.

Your licensed massage therapist is aware of areas where trigger points are commonly located. Be sure to let them know where you are experiencing pain during the initial consultation.

You will be fully and modestly draped with a sheet/blanket during your massage. The therapist will only uncover the part of the body being worked on, re-draping and tucking for client comfort.   A client can request that certain parts of their body not be massaged.

Benefits of Trigger Point Massage

Trigger point massage can release the tightest areas of your body, helping to improve range of motion, posture, and alignment while relieving pain. Your certified trigger point massage therapist will focus on the locations connected to where the pain occurs to provide relief. Trigger point massage therapy can often help people suffering from headaches, neck and shoulder tension, and chronic back pain.

Reflexology involves applying pressure to specific points on the hands and feet.  These points are believed to correspond to the organs and systems in your body and when pressure is applied to certain points, it promotes relief from pain, dysfunction and relaxation.

Reflexology can be a 60 Minute session, a 30 minute add-on to your regular session or incorporated into your regular Swedish or Deep Tissue massage.

What is Reflexology Massage?

In early years, it is believed that many cultures such as the Chinese, Japanese, Indians and Egyptians worked on the feet and hands to promote good health. Reflexology developed into zone therapy, mapping out the zones that run through the body and feet. Each zone is associated with organs and structures in the body.  It was found that working points in these zones on the feet and hands affect structures and organs in the rest of the body. Charts of the points in the hands and feet can be found worldwide.

Our trained licensed massage therapists use these charts to access points on the hands and feet, focusing their work on areas that a client would like to see improvement.

Points are addressed with either stimulating or sedating pressure as needed.

You will be fully and modestly draped with a sheet/blanket during your massage. The therapist will only uncover the part of the body being worked on, re-draping and tucking for client comfort.   A client can request that certain parts of their body not be massaged.

Benefits of Reflexology Massage

Reflexology benefits the body by providing balance, decreased pain, boosting the immune system and addressing areas such as sinuses, digestion and lungs.  It may also provide relief to anyone with tired, achy feet.  The effects can be immediate and long lasting.  Get off your feet and let MassageLuXe’s trained licensed massage therapists get to work.

Hot Stone Massage incorporates heated, smooth Basalt stones into a Swedish or Deep Tissue style massage.  A licensed massage therapist uses the stones to warm and loosen tight muscles.

What is Hot Stone Massage?

During your massage, the basalt stones are placed on various parts of your body to help warm the tissues.  The warm stones are also used to massage parts of the body for a deeper, warming effect.

Your licensed massage therapist warms the stones using water and a professional stone heater that is temperature controlled.  The stones can be placed along your spine, legs, feet, hands, chest, and arms.  During your massage, you may have warm stones on part of your body while the therapist is using other stones to massage.

You will be fully and modestly draped with a sheet/blanket during your massage. The therapist will only uncover the part of the body being worked on, re-draping and tucking for client comfort.   A client can request that certain parts of their body not be massaged.

Benefits of Hot Stone Massage

Hot Stone massage is a wonderful way to relax while the stones warm and loosen tight tissues and muscles.  By relaxing muscles with direct heat, the stones allow the massage to affect deeper muscle layers without applying deep pressure.  When the stones are placed on your body to warm the tissues, at least one layer of covering is in-between the skin and the stones.

This treatment is good for those suffering from chronic conditions such as fibromyalgia or arthritis as well as those needing a truly warming massage for muscle tension and pain, stress, or insomnia.
